Successful first year of our EU project Mind4Body

At the end of the first year of our European project Mind4Body "migrant women´s life improvement through body oriented approach" (Erasmus +) the project manager Regina Rauw draws a positive balance:

Partner organisations from the Netherlands, Turkey, Italy and Germany have developed a common understanding of the content of Mind4Body: Mind4Body is an innovative approach in the educational work for women with a migration background, in which body and mind are integrated. To feel comfortable in your own body and pay attention to the signals of the body is the starting point of development for personal strength, self-confidence and freedom.

To hold trainings based on this approach, all partners selected four trainers to join the education program for the Mind4Body trainer. This training consisted of 2 face-to-face seminars (April and October 2016) as well as various elements of online learning and experience in practice. It was guided by the senior trainers Regina Rauw and Wilma Groeneveld, connected to Eubikus.

In the meanwhile the try-out-trainings for women with (and without) migrant background takes place at various locations: in Izmir, Turkey (TK), Rotterdam (NL), Termoli (it) in Fulda (de) and in Schoonloo (NL).

In the next step the training materials are documented and published, presented a wide range of multipliers and disseminators at various events.

An International Conference for the presentation of the project results will take place on October 20th 2017 in Fulda.

Our newsletter informs regularly about current development of the project-as this second newsletter: http://www.mind4body.info/pdf/mind4body-newsletter2.pdf

Start of training for Mind4Body-Manager

Within the scope of the project all partners try to realize local Mind4Body trainings for female migrants. During these trainings the female migrants are supported by releasing their own potentials and using it for an independent living. The basic message is:”be who you are”. For not only imparting this message verbally but being experienced these trainings are body-oriented: Motion, voice and breathing techniques are used for discovering the own power in a holistic way.

For understanding and realizing this innovative approach the managers of the partner organizations have started a training divided into three parts. The first part was a workshop for six days from March 28th till April 4th 2016 in Oberelsbach (Rhön). The female managers gained own experiences of the body-oriented approach, worked out the concept of “seven steps” practically and got to know different methods of realization. The second part is an online support for theory and practice. For the third part the female managers are going to meet again in October 2016 for intensification and practical advice.

The Senior managers and experts regarding bodywork Regina Rauw (Eubikus-member) and Wilma Groeneveld are conducting the training with regard to content. Wilma Groeneveld has been affiliated into EUBIKUS in March 2016 as an associated member from the Netherlands. She takes an active part in the project Mind4Body and dedicates herself to the training of the female managers and the issue of appropriated training materials.
